Poll: How much will your IT budget grow/shrink in 2010?

At the Gartner Symposium/ITExpo 2009 in Orlando, Fla., Peter Sondergaard, a senior vice president of research at Gartner, says 2009 was the worst spending cycle ever. He adds that Silicon Valley will no longer be in charge of the rebound and emerging regions will drive IT spending and how it’s deployed.

Sondergaard predicts that IT spending won’t recover across all vertical markets until 2012. Healthcare, utilities, and government IT spending are likely to recover more rapidly. “Federal government spending on IT has become the new emerging market,” Sondergaard said.

Furthermore, overall IT spending is predicted to rise 2.2 percent in 2010, but Sondergaard pointed out IT budget growth for many in the audience was likely to be 0 or even less. Is this true in your organization?
