Xirrus explains why IT can now afford to 'ditch the switch'

I’ve written positively about Xirrus wireless arrays in the past, but I recently gave them some grief at Interop Las Vegas 2008. My criticism was directed toward the “ditch the switch” promotional campaign, because I just don’t think most companies are at the point where ditching the switch is a realistic option.

In this interview with John Merrill, director of marketing communications for Xirrus, Merrill explains why the company thinks the time has arrived that IT can throw out some workgroup switches for wireless LAN arrays and save a little money in the process.
